6. AN EVENING OF SHADOWS [Seattle, WA]
Thursday, December 2, 2004 - 7:30pm
Let's see what happens when we get animators and puppeteers together in the
dark! The PUPPETEERS of the PUGET SOUND together with ASIFA-NW ANIMATION
ASSOCIATION present "An Evening of Shadows." Join in as two creative and
unique Guilds join together for an evening of uninhibited creation. Enjoy
the opportunity to hang out with friends and fellow artists before all the
holiday craziness kicks in!
We'll be working in teams to dream up fantastic stories, whip out fabulous
shadow puppets, and share our magnum opus with the others. Kevin Hinshaw
and Annastasia Workman, two talented musicians will be there to illustrate
our tales with music. Laura Paxton, aerial artiste extraordinaire and
general creative genius, will also work with us to inspire our tales to
greater and greater heights (true to the high flying nature of her work
with Circus Contraption).
All building materials will be supplied, thanks to a grant from the
Puppeteers of America. So all that's needed are your wonderful selves.
Thank you to the Circus for the kind use of their rehearsal space.
The evening will be a special one. Be there for the fun! We're looking
forward to seeing you.
Location/DIRECTIONS: We'll be meeting at the Circus Contraption rehearsal
space out at the Warren G. Magnussen Park, located at Sandpoint and 74th
(use the NE entrance). Once you have entered the complex, take an
IMMEDIATE left just past the guard booth and go down past several
buildings to the one with a large white garage door and the lights on.

Terry Gilliam, and the art of Salvador Dali and Hieronymus Bosch. there's an
abundant assortment of weird creatures, none of whom are sweet and cuddly in
