ASIFA Seattle's 2008 "Straight to Ink and Drink" ANIJAM!

We hosted our first Anijam, and it was quite an adventure! Check out the results of over 10 animators, 5 light tables and more sharpie fumes than is probably healthy. Hey, whatever it takes to get inspired, right? ;)

What's an Anijam?

Based on the 1984 film by Marv Newland, "Anijam" was a film made by 22 animators. They had no idea what came before or after them, but had to start and end on the same character.

In our version, one animator picks up on the last frame drawn by the previous animator. We add a couple of good old-fashioned tweens from the different animators, and the end result is one smooth (and often surreal) looping animation.

The best part is we can film and screen the animation on the very same day that it is created!

Special thanks to David, Steve, and Bob (for bringing colored pens!) for helping make the event happen.

We hope you can join us for the next one!

Sincerely,

---Natt T.
