ASIFA Celebrates 50 years

There is an article about ASIFA in this month's Animation Magazine entitled "ASIFA Celebrates 50 Years of Giving to the Animation Community". Check it out!

The first paragraph gives some background:
"ASIFA, the International Animated Film Association, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Having received its charter under UNESCO in 1960 with only a handful of members, today it has grown to around 6,000 members in 58 countries around the world. It was originally founded in France as ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film D'Animation)."

It lists ASIFA's goals as "provide opportunities for professionals to network globally" and "sustaining and preserving the rights of animators and the art of animation".
